The Immovable Wall
The Guardian is built around one principle: nothing gets past you. Using advanced holo-shield technology, you create barriers, absorb damage and control the battlefield. While other classes deal damage from safety, you ARE the safety.
Guardians excel at crowd control, damage mitigation and keeping enemies focused on them. In coop, a Guardian means the difference between a clean run and a wipe. Solo, you're nearly unkillable — slow, but relentless.
Holo-Shield System
Energy barrier that absorbs incoming damage. Regenerates out of combat. Managing your shield charge is the core Guardian skill.
Place holo-walls on the battlefield. Block projectiles, funnel enemies, create chokepoints. Up to 2 active barriers at once.
Melee attacks that consume shield charge for massive stagger damage. Combo chains that end in devastating slams.
Taunt pulse that forces nearby enemies to target you. Shield glow increases threat generation. Essential for group content.
Key Skills
Deploy a massive dome shield around yourself and nearby allies. All damage absorbed for 8 seconds. Inside the dome, allies regenerate health. Cooldown: 120s.
Charge forward with shield raised, knocking enemies aside. Deals stagger damage and repositions you instantly. Short cooldown, bread-and-butter engage tool.
Place a barrier that blocks movement and projectiles for 10 seconds. Can be detonated early for AoE stagger. Two charges.
While standing still, damage reduction increases by 25%. Shield regeneration doubled. Rewards positioning over movement.
The Whistleblower
Start: Calloway Orbital Platform, orbit over Kessler.
You were Security Chief on Calloway's weapons testing station. Well-paid, loyal, professional. Until a prototype mech test went catastrophically wrong. You saved civilians and tech personnel — then found the documents.
Calloway knew the test was dangerous. The "civilians" were test subjects. Your inquiry was blocked, your clearance revoked. When they tried to "transfer" you — a polite word for elimination — you fought your way out.
Now you're on Eridan Station with stolen Calloway data, a military skillset and a personal vendetta against the corp that tried to bury you.
Calloway Intel — classified data on illegal weapons research. Becomes relevant in Act 2.
Military training, knowledge of corp security protocols. Unique dialogue options with Calloway NPCs.
Who Should Play Guardian
You like being in the thick of it. You want enemies to hit YOU, not your team. You enjoy strategic positioning — placing barriers, controlling chokepoints, timing your abilities. You don't deal the most damage, but nothing dies without your permission.
Highest survivability. Best crowd control. Essential for group content. Strong stagger damage.
Lowest DPS. Slow movement. Shield management required. Less effective at range.
